Hibernation Station Community Guidelines

Welcome to Hibernation Station! Our goal is to ensure that every player has the best opportunity to have fun, feel welcome, and be themselves. We've created these guidelines to ensure all our users can play in harmony.

Core Principles

  1. Be Respectful: Trolling, abusive language (including racial, sexual, religious, political, and gender-discriminating comments), sexual harassment, threats, and other uncivilized behavior will not be tolerated. This applies to all communications: in-game, on Discord, and in private messages between users. (Zero tolerance policy: even one incident may result in a complete ban.)

  2. No Advertising: Do not promote other communities, servers, streams, link spam, or seek monetary payments from users. Streaming in our Discord channels is limited to Hibernation Station servers only. Do not insert links into your custom Discord status. (Zero tolerance policy: even one incident may result in a complete ban.)

  3. Communication Etiquette: Do not tag or DM players or admins (this includes replies to messages, which auto-tag). Report issues and conflicts by creating a ticket or ask in general Discord channels where anyone can see/answer and assist. We strive to respond to all issues promptly.

  4. Age Restrictions: Due to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule ("COPPA"), players must be 13+ years old or have parental consent before joining. Discord users must be 13 years or older, regardless of parental consent (as per Discord's terms of service).

  5. Penalties: Failure to abide by community/game guidelines will result in the following penalties:

    • Written warning

    • 72-hour ban

    • 1-week ban

    • Permanent ban

General Rules

  1. Admin Areas: Tribes marked with {A} are strictly off-limits. Do not demolish structures or claim dinos in these areas.

  2. Discord Nicknames:
IMPORTANT: Update your Discord nickname to match your in-game name and tribe: InGameName <TribeName>
This is crucial for admins to easily identify and communicate with you. Failure to do so may result in delayed assistance or missed important information.

  3. PvP Rules:

    • On PvE Servers: PvP behavior will result in an immediate and complete ban.

    • On PvP/Farming SE Server: PvP is completely welcome. High Risk for High Reward.

  4. Fair Play: Exploiting bugs or glitches is strictly prohibited and may lead to a permanent ban. This includes:

    • Building or traveling outside the world mesh

    • Forcefully entering non-tribe/ally shields

    • Duplicating items or dinos

    • Using external cheating software (e.g., aimbots)

    • Claiming dinos inside shield barriers

  5. Respecting Others' Tames:

    • No dino sniping (tranquilizing a dino someone else is taming)

    • Wyvern/Rock Drake trench eggs are first come, first serve

    • Dispose of unwanted eggs by consuming or incinerating them, not by dropping

  6. Resource Gathering: First come, first serve for drops, veins, OSDs, and event drops. No sniping!

Prohibited Actions

  1. Do not log out with items in your inventory. Deposit everything into a vault or storage box before logging off. (We will not replace items left on your body if you log in dead/empty)

  2. Do not sell dinos for cash. (See "Sell Dinos for Admin Shop Credit" for details)

  3. Do not name yourself Human, Humano, Humain, etc. If you forgot to name yourself, open a support ticket. This also includes Tribe Name - Do not name your Tribe ‘Human Tribe’ or similar please.

  4. Do not block resources (Metal, beaver dams, organic polymer, etc.)

  5. Do not block major creature spawns (Gigas, penguins, fight clubs*, etc.)

  6. Do not block caves or explorer notes.

  7. Do not block bridges or major paths.

  8. Do not leave your dinos all over the map.

  9. Do not build structures that block waterways. Members should be able to use rafts through all major waterways.

  10. Do not leave dinos at obelisks (they will be destroyed if left for a long period).

  11. Do not grief, drop creatures on people's bases, build to prevent people from expanding, or park tames on people's bases. This may result in a ban.

  12. Do not talk inappropriately in the general or game global chat.

  13. Do not drag people's sleeping bodies into water to drown them. This will result in an instant dev wipe if we find out it was you.

  14. Do not clone Super Variants or any other specialty creature (alphas, bosses, etc.)

  15. Do not steal from other tribes.

  16. Do not encourage others to break the rules.

  17. Do not intentionally keep items duped from 50/50 or any other means of duping.

  18. Do not take advantage of bugs or exploits, such as 50/50 and any other known issues.

  19. Do not set your creatures on wander.

Essential Actions

  1. DEPOSIT ALL YOUR ITEMS INTO A VAULT OR STORAGE BEFORE LOGGING OFF. (This rule is critical and repeated for emphasis)

  2. Use common sense. If you're unsure about an action, ask first.

  3. Be considerate of other members. Build far enough away to allow others to expand.

  4. Construct one main base and only outposts on non-main maps.

  5. Remove traps after use.

  6. Empty beaver dams after use.

  7. Cryopod your dinos when not actively breeding or using them.

Base Building Rules

  1. Base Allotments:

    • Tribes are granted 2 base locations per server: One 100x100 and one 50x50

    • Merged bases: Max size 115x115 (not 150x150)

    • Patreon supporters: Additional 50x50 base on Patreon maps only

    • Height limits: Two behemoth gates tall on all maps, except Extinction (four behemoth gates tall within city center only)

    • Measurements taken from the lowest point of your base up

    • 1x1 bases/huts counts as a base

  2. Base Spacing: Keep bases at least 100 foundations apart unless you have permission from the base owner.

  3. Building Restrictions:

    • No hitching posts

    • No "foundation/pillar spam" to claim areas or prevent dino spawns

    • Turn off visibility ranges for nanny/generators/soul terminals/mutator when offline

    • No piping lines for water (use waterless intake)

    • Remove traps after taming

    • No fish baskets left in water

  4. Crop Limits: Max 500 crop plots and 4 gardeners per tribe on any map. Stacking allowed, but no meshing.

  5. Restricted Areas: No building in artifact caves, near explorer notes, drops, resource-rich locations, or special dino spawns. Contact admin before building if unsure.

    • If you are interested in building in any of these spots please submit a ticket

      1. Add location, Map/server, and coords

  6. Pathways and Spawns:

    • Do not block walkways - Ensure there is a path for non-flying players

    • If building near pathways or spawn points, ensure unlocked exits

  7. Mobile Bases: When offline, keep inside main base or ensure:

    • Turrets off or within a shield covering the entire platform and dino

    • Not blocking pathways or entrances

    • Not in no-build areas or other players' bases

  8. General Base Rules:

    • One end of your base should be in render distance of the other end. If it's not, your base is too big.

    • If your base causes major lag, you will be asked to downsize.

Dino and Tame Management

  1. Tame Storage:

    • Keep all tames inside your base perimeter on passive and disable wander

  2. Breeding Rules:

    • Do not leave breeding dinos out when you log off

  3. Active Dinos:

    • Keep a few dinos out for everyday farming/gameplay

    • Dino cap per tribe on each map, and a global cap per map to minimize performance issues

  4. Breeding Restrictions:

    • No breeding titanosaurs

    • No meshing dinos (includes breeding/raising/storing)

      1. Ensure all dinos have enough room to grow and move around each other

Speech Policy

At Hibernation Station, we believe in the freedom of expression! We're a community where all voices are welcome. However, to keep our den cozy and respectful for everyone, we have a few ground rules. Here's what's not allowed in our hibernation hangout:

  • Blatant racism - Let's keep things friendly for all our fellow gamers!

  • Spamming - Don't wake the bears with repetitive noise.

  • Advertising other discords or clusters - We love our home, let's focus on that.

  • IRL threats or anything illegal in the United States - Keep it fun and legal, folks!

Remember, a harmonious hive makes for happy hibernators! Let's keep our conversations as warm as a bear hug and as exciting as waking up to a fresh salmon breakfast.
